Decorating Information

Artwork Requirements

• Platform: MAC /PC.
• File types: Illustrator CS 3, CorelDraw X3.
• File formats: Native vector files in .pdf (preferred), .ai, .eps, .ps, .cdr, .svg. (other formats may incur additional charges)
• Non-photography elements should be vector with fonts converted to curves.
• Minimum resolution / file format for non-vector files: 300 dpi / .tif.

Embroidery

To prepare a job for embroidery, art must be digitized.

• Acceptable formats: .dst, .pxf, .pof, .emb, .exp, .psf, .pes, .fmc, .fdr.
• Re-digitizing (new tape) is required for any resizing greater than 20%.
• Artwork created for other items may not be suitable for use.
• For color match, please specify thread color number; match will be made as close as possible.

• Stuffit (MAC); Winzip (PC)

• Art is recommended to be e-mailed as an attachment along with your P.O. to orders@marketidentity.com. Please include company name and P.O. # in the subject line.
• 
  
• CD, DVD, 3.5" floppy or Zip disk also accepted–one disk for each order.
• When sending art via mail or e-mail, correspondence must include: company name and address, P.O. #, name of sender/contact, e-mail address, phone and fax.

We accept mailed in “camera-ready art”; this format is subject to review and may incur an art charge. Art must be flat, hi-resolution, black and white line art, to size.

• Art must be color-separated with proper registration marks; one piece for each color.
• To have artwork returned, you must include an addressed return envelope with proper postage with your request. Artwork will be retained for 13-months, then discarded.

• All fonts must be converted to outlines (curves) to avoid font substitutions.
• If typesetting is required, indicate layout instructions (centered, flush left/right, all caps, upper/lower case, etc.) or art will be prepared for best appearance/printing on item. Paperproof recommended when typesetting. Please specify font:
  • Plain: Arial, Avant Garde, Franklin Gothic, Helvetica.
  • Serif: Benguiat, Cooper Black, Souvenir, Times Roman.
  • Script: Brush Script, Lucida Calligraphy, Monotype Corsiva, Viner Hand.
  • Specialty: Comic Sans, Curlz MT , Ravie, College.

• Unless otherwise specified, artwork will be sized to fit the standard decoration size and placed in the standard decoration area.
• Unless otherwise stated on the order, we reserve the right to stack copy to achieve the best appearance for your imprint.
• Artwork will be held on file for 13 months. Repeat orders submitted after that time will require new artwork.

Decorating Methods & Related Charges

Screen Printing & Pad Printing

All pricing includes a 1-color, 1-location imprint including FREE set-up, unless otherwise specified. Additional charges may apply for non-standard colors.

Standard Imprint Colors

The below color swatches are provided for reference only. Due to inconsistencies in computer monitors, these swatches should not be relied upon for accurate color matching. Non-standard colors: add $40 for orders of specified catalog quantity. Please submit Pantone Color Standard number or color sample on coated stock when ordering/re-ordering non-standard colors.

Additional Color / Location Charges

• Pens, Pocket Lights & Key-Ring Lights: $0.12 per unit + $24 set-up per order
• All other products: $ 0.40 per unit + $36 set-up per order
• Ink color change within a minimum quantity run: $24 per change Set-Up charges waived for exact reorders placed within 13 months of original order.
• PMS color matches: $40 per color

Minimum Imprint Guidelines

Multi-Color Heat Transfer

Heat Transfer is available on most fabrics including nylon, cotton, polyester and poly/cotton blends and is especially recommended for non-woven polypropylene. Minimum quantity of 288 pieces required per order. Please call for lower quantity pricing.

Minimum Line Weight: 2 pt.

Charges

• Stuffed Animal Accessories: add $0.40 per unit / location
• All other products: add $ 0.75 per unit / location

• Available on white polyester Tees and Bandanas only
Run Charge: add $0.40 per piece

Embroidery

Set-Up Charges

• New Tape: $12 per 1,000 Stitches
• Edits to Existing Tape: $25
• Personalization: $14.40

Set-Up charges waived for exact reorders placed within 13 months of original order.

Additional Location / Stitch Count Run Charges (per unit)

• Initial Run Charge–all qtys (for items where embroidery is NOT the standard decoration method): $1.35 per location, up to 7,500 Stitches
• Additional Run Charge (for all embroidered items): $0.24 per location, per 1,000 stitches over 7,500
• Personalization
  • 1st line: $3.20
  • 2nd line: $1.40

Minimum Text Height

Text smaller than 3/16" is deemed illegible and is not permitted.
